OVERVIEW
Enjoy the ultimate view of seaside Agadir while riding a cable car to the fortified hilltop Kasbah and snap photos of other attractions while touring the city below. An earthquake in 1960 leveled much of Agadir, especially in the Talbordjt district, which has been completely rebuilt with landmarks such as the Mohammed V Mosque. As you will discover, its soaring minaret dominates the area. The earthquake also severely affected Souk El Had, which had to be reestablished in a different location. During free time in what is now among the largest urban marketplaces in Africa, you can browse its stalls and shops, which number in the thousands. Riding the cable car will add yet another dimension to your understanding of Agadir and its outstanding location at the foot of the Anti-Atlas Mountains. The views will be breathtaking the entire way, especially once you reach the 16th-century Kasbah, the site of Old Town.
