Visit the Rock of Cashel, an impressive pre-Christian settlement. Enjoy lunch in a restaurant nearby. Travel to Cahir, located on the River Suir to visit Cahir Castle. Rooms in the keep are whitewashed and contain armor displays and period furnishings from the 16th and 17th centuries.
The scenic return route climbs in a zigzag course to the gap, with a series of magnificent views and descends into County Waterford and on to Cobh.
