Book Early

After departing from the pier, you will soon arrive in the center of Catania, which is particularly vibrant around the main outdoor market. While meandering through the countless market stalls, you will observe a slice of life like no other.
Locals will be ordering fresh produce and seafood, merchants will be urging passersby to sample their goods, and the aromas of ground spices will be wafting through the air. With your appetite sufficiently whetted, you will have the opportunity to sample some freshly fried fish and traditional arancini, which are stuffed deep-fried rice balls.
To further stimulate your appetite, you will pause at a bar for an aperitif and then enjoy a few minutes of free time to walk around Catania. Continuing on up the coast, you will soon reach Aci Castello, a fishing village named for the remains of its Norman castle.
Once you comfortably settle into a waterfront restaurant, lunch will be served. Chances are, the meal will include seafood such as mussels, calamari and anchovies, as all of them are routinely caught in the clear waters off Aci Castello.
This tour includes approximately 3 hours of walking/standing; there will be some inclines and cobblestone surfaces to negotiate plus any additional walking at the guests' discretion during free time. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and may not be suitable for those with mobility concerns who are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing; sun cap; sunglasses; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
