OVERVIEW
Enjoy tastings of classic Croatian wines at a museum in front of Old Town and explore the medieval walled city for a further understanding of the culture. You will enter the historical district through the 15th-century Pile and continue on to the Wine Museum, which occupies the former summer house of an 18th-century noble family. While browsing the exhibits of antique wine presses and other winemaking artifacts, you will learn about the evolution of Croatian wines. To enhance your appreciation for the process, you will sample wines that will likely include a ruby-red made with Plavac Mali grapes and a full-bodied white made with Posip grapes, two of the primary grape varieties grown along the Dalmatian Coast. Grissini breadsticks, ham and cheese will also be served. Afterwards, you will enter the historical district through the 15th-century Pile gate, the guide will show you some of the most iconic landmarks in Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site acclaimed for its medieval architecture. Free time follows.
