OVERVIEW
Hike a moderately challenging but absolutely mesmerizing trail that encompasses three peaks – Meelin, Brackloon and Knockaffeehane – along a lengthy ridge. The hike will begin in the village of Annascaul and continue for a little more than four miles, during which you will enjoy an intimate, up-close look at some of the most beautiful countryside on the Dingle Peninsula. Along the trail, which is one continuous loop, the guide may describe the legends of the mythical warriors said to have battled there and point out the considerable natural wonders. They include the predominately sandstone Slieve Mish Mountains, lovely Dingle Bay and Inch Beach, whose backdrop is a wild, windswept series of sand dunes. Stops will be made along the way to rest, gaze out over the stunning scenery and perhaps learn about the area’s history. Feel free to ask questions about the local flora or anything else that comes to mind.
