Visit Baha Village for a glimpse of traditional Balinese life, then continue into the cool mountain region of Bedugul to explore Ulun Danu Temple on Lake Beratan. Upon reaching Baha Village, you will see the uniform entrance gates of family compounds and traditional housing structures that reflect the village’s local character. You will also learn about the Subak organization, an agricultural society that helps regulate irrigation water for local farmers and remains an important part of Bali’s rural way of life. Continue to Lake Beratan, often associated with the fertility of the surrounding highlands, and visit Ulun Danu Temple, a major water temple set along the lake. Built in the 17th century to honor the lake goddess Danu, the temple complex reflects the importance of water in the Balinese countryside. The crystal-clear lake and mountainous backdrop create a striking setting well worth photographing. Before returning to the pier, enjoy a coffee or tea break with Balinese traditional cakes at Secret Garden Village.
