OVERVIEW
Enjoy an incredibly panoramic drive to the North Cape – the northernmost edge of Europe – and drop by a campground for a cultural experience with the indigenous Sámi people. As you travel north across Magerøy Island, you can’t help but be taken by the beauty of the rolling landscape. You may see reindeer grazing on the barren treeless terrain, which flattens out as you approach the sea cliffs at the North Cape. The views will be absolutely stunning from the symbolic globe sculpture at the edge of the headland. During free time, you might drop by the café and mail a card from the post office. After driving back across the tundra, you will arrive at a Sámi camp. While gathered around a fire in a tepee known as a lavvo, you will learn about their culture and hear stories of Sámi life. Grilled and dried reindeer will be served as a snack.
