The largest and most impressive of these buildings is the cathedral of St. Tryphon. During the 1979 earthquake many monuments were seriously damaged, but the town has been restored, largely with the help of UNESCO. Start your walking tour with a fabulous view of the nearly 3 mile (4.5 km) long town walls which appear above you. Stepping into the biggest square of the Old Town, you’ll be taken back centuries to the period of Venetian rule.

You’ll also visit the Maritime Museum where you‘ll learn how the naval traditions were always an unbroken link between the citizens of Kotor and the sea.
