Caribbean Farm To Table

OVERVIEW

Help harvest fruits and vegetables in a small farming community and watch a chef prepare your lunch using the freshly picked ingredients. After riding to Pumpkin Bottom in a safari-style vehicle, you will engage with the farmers and hand-select some of the produce that will be part of your meal. You will also gain an understanding of farm life, both past and present, and how the crops have transitioned from tobacco to sugarcane and coffee. In time, you will travel to the Blue Hole Great House, an 18th-century sugar plantation, parts of which are now in ruins. While touring the historical property, you will be served lemongrass iced tea, a non-caffeinated beverage that is said to have health benefits. The chef will then show you how to make a favorite Jamaican meal, which you will enjoy for lunch. Free time follows at the Chukka Ocean Outpost at Sandy Bay.
