OVERVIEW

Ride an electric bike along the inspiring Hawke’s Bay Trails and through the suburb of Taradale and admire the gorgeous views throughout the journey. Traveling by e-bike couldn’t be easier because its battery-powered, whisper-quiet motor makes pedaling a breeze, allowing you to go farther with less effort. You will experience that firsthand by zipping through the urban green spaces on the flat easy-to-negotiate bike path. The route is about 11 miles long, all of it wonderfully scenic. During stops, the guide will point out and describe highlights such as Napier’s vast collection of Art Deco buildings, the photogenic Ahuriri Coast and a protected wildlife refuge that attracts a remarkable variety of wading birds in the shallows of its estuary. The cycling portion of the tour will end at the cellar door of one of the region’s premier wineries, where you will enjoy a tasting thoughtfully paired with a platter of seasonal delicacies.

Note: The cycling is a total distance of 11 miles (18 km). The terrain is completely flat and gentle and suitable for all riders with a moderate level of fitness. E-bikes are provided with pedal assist. A support vehicle follows the route to provide mechanical assistance or to collect participants who do not wish to continue cycling. Minimum height to participate is 135 cm (4'5"). The legal age for drinking alcohol in New Zealand is 18 years of age. This tour is not suitable for guests with mobility concerns. Guests may continue tour in van if they prefer not to ride the E-bike anymore.
