OVERVIEW

Follow a natural path through the wilds of Paradise Valley and pause at the halfway point for breathtaking view. The trailhead isn’t far out of town, yet the surrounding landscape will appear more remote than it really is. The trail is considered moderately challenging but stops will be made along the way to rest and enjoy the gorgeous scenery of rocky hills, jumbles of boulders and majestic view of the coastline. One can also drink fresh water from rushing streams fed by snowmelt. The guide will also pause to describe the indigenous flora and how best to forage for wild herbs, edible plants, and crowberries when available, which are typically used in salads, juices and jellies. You will learn more about Greenlandic cuisine while enjoying your snack. Although vegetarian items may be offered, most of the entrées will be grilled meats such as reindeer, musk-ox and lamb.
