Forest Sky Walk & Butterfly Gardens

OVERVIEW

Walk high above the rainforest floor on a series of suspended cable bridges and browse a butterfly garden whose setting is equally serene. The venue for the forest skywalk will be the Villa Lapas, an eco-hotel that a dense tropical jungle surrounds. While walking through the tree canopy along the suspension bridges – each one hundreds of feet long – you will see parts of the rainforest that you would never be aware of otherwise. Different animals inhabit different levels of the forest, and you may spot monkeys scurrying among the treetops and avian species such as toucans and clay-colored thrushes, the national bird of Costa Rica. Smaller, more fragile creatures inhabit the butterfly garden El Jardín, where you may see species ranging from the tiny Tropical Greenstreak to the oversized Blue Morpho, a butterfly so striking that it has become the country’s national symbol. Feel free to shop at El Jardín while snacking on fresh fruits.
