As an introduction to Panama City, you will enjoy an enlightening walk through the historic district Casco Antiguo, a UNESCO World Heritage site recognized for preserving its original street plan and unusual mix of French and Spanish architecture. Along the way, a tasting of Tropical Fruits at the San Felipe Neri local market. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the market and discover other shops and stalls in the area (if time allows). A multi-course lunch will follow at Fonda Lo Que Hay, an unpretentious but acclaimed restaurant celebrated for its innovative cuisine that fuses traditional Panamanian and Afro-Antillean flavors. Several of the dishes will showcase seafood such as the tuna yucca tostada appetizer and the locally sourced fish entrées. After dining, you watch a demonstration of raspao being prepared. This shaved-ice treat is the Panamanian version of a snow cone, but flavored with tropical syrups and topped with condensed milk.
