OVERVIEW

Drive into the mountainous national park that looms behind Puerto Plata in a safari-style vehicle as a prelude to relaxing on one of the area’s most beautiful beaches. After a panoramic view of the city you will head to Museo del Ron, for a tasting of its spirits and to gain an understanding of the characteristics of its premium rums. You will then begin to ascend the densely forested mountain Isabel de Torres at the top of which you will spot a miniature version of the famed Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro and a botanical garden. The community El Cupey occupies the mountain summit and offers extraordinary views of the tropical landscape below. Upon descending, you enjoy free time at Costa Amber, one of the most popular beaches in Puerto Plata. This spectacular stretch of sand earned a prestigious Blue Flag designation for its water quality, cleanliness and for being eco-friendly.

Note: Participants must be at least 18 years of age for rum tasting. Food is available for purchase at the beach. This tour includes a moderate amount of walking mainly at the guest's discretion. Beach Chairs are included, along with a welcome drink. Food and beverage are available for an additional cost. Weather appropriate clothing; sunglasses; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
