OVERVIEW
This excursion is for guests that use a cane/walker, have limited mobility issues or for companions of those guest that have booked mobility equipment tour.
Those guests that are fully dependent on their mobility device please book: SAL_A8 ACCESSIBLE Mobility Equipment: Pompeii, Sorrento & Amalfi Coast (Van).
Tour includes step-free routes, shorter distances and no stairs. Accessible restrooms with wide doors for wheelchairs are present along the tour route. Vehicles are adapted with an access ramp (or lift where available) to accommodate a limited number of wheelchairs and/or mobility scooters. Guides are not allowed to push wheelchairs; therefore, guests needing special assistance must be accompanied by an able-bodied.
Drive along the gorgeous Amalfi coast and explore the resort city of Sorrento on your own before proceeding to the excavated ruins of Pompeii. You will pass towering bluffs, dramatic gorges and pastel-colored villages that will make the coastal journey all the more memorable. In time, you will pause for photos of Positano, a picture-perfect almost vertical town that clings to the side of a cliff overlooking the sea. Farther down the peninsula, you will stop in Sorrento. It too offers sweeping views of the Mediterranean with Mt. Vesuvius looming in the distance. While exploring, you will behold extraordinary architecture and feel the vibrancy of everyday life in this classic Italian setting. Then, it’s on to Pompeii, a Roman town forever known for the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius that buried it under ash and pumice in 79 AD. While touring the somber necropolis, you will see eerie plaster casts of some of the victims.
