Singapore Bird Paradise

OVERVIEW

Meander through Bird Paradise, Asia’s largest collection of aviaries, and observe every imaginable species of bird in habitats that reflect those found in nature. As an introduction to the avian world, you will watch an array of colorful, highly intelligent birds show off their prodigious talents in the Sky Amphitheater. You will then be free to walk about the park on your own and observe other species that interest you. You might see Gentoo penguins – the world’s fastest swimming penguin – zipping through the water and hear snow-white Bali mynas singing a song composed of chuckles, squawks and scratchy chatters. There are fearsome-looking raptors such as the Philippine eagle, wide-beaked tawny frogmouths, dinosaur-like Southern cassowaries and neon-colored rainbow lorikeets, whose brush-tipped tongues help them feed on nectar and soft fruits. Bird Paradise lives up to its name by sheltering more threatened avian species than any other zoological park in the world.
