OVERVIEW
Explore the natural wonders in a voluminous cave at the foot of Mount Mosor and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of an 18th-century water mill. While walking through the Vranjača Cave, you will behold an array of stalactites and stalagmites eerily illuminated for dramatic effect. These formations on the limestone karst – many of which are massive – only grow about a tenth of an inch every century, so you can only imagine their age. You will also notice that some of the cave walls shimmer from the natural crystals embedded in them. Objects found in the Vranjača Cave indicate that it was inhabited during the Neolithic period. Although water mills have been used since ancient times, few of them are as well-preserved as Gašpina Mlinica, which dates to 1711. It was used to ground grain until the 1960s and has since been restored to include a restaurant where you will enjoy a traditional Dalmatian snack.
