Journey 135 miles inland through the rugged desert to the foothills of Mount Sinai and discover St. Catherine's Monastery. This Greek Orthodox holy place is the oldest Christian monastery in the world, dating back to the prophet Moses and the exodus of the Jews from Egypt. You’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the monastery.

Arriving at St. Catherine’s you'll have a guided tour that includes viewing what is believed to be Moses' Burning Bush, a visit to the chapel where you can admire a lovely collection of icons and jeweled crosses and a stop at the Library Museum which houses an impressive collection of precious books and manuscripts.

Need to Know:

Note: Tour travels a combined total of approximately 6 hours by coach and includes approximately 1 1/2 hours of walking and/or standing at the monastery. As tour visits a religious site, please dress appropriately - no bare shoulders, shorts, or skirts above the knee. Tour is offered on the October 31st sailing only.
