OVERVIEW

Drive in an open-air 4x4 Jeep through the stunningly beautiful countryside on the Atlantic coast of the Cape Peninsula and enjoy an inspiring wine tasting along the way. You will follow a circuitous, immensely picturesque route around secluded coves, through quaint seaside villages and along legendary Chapman’s Peak Drive, which skirts soaring Chapman’s Peak. At times, the narrow twisting road will hug a sheer cliff on one side and the rocky coastline on the other. In time, you will arrive at Groot Constantia, the oldest wine-producing farm in South Africa, having been founded in 1685. There you will enjoy a tasting of premium wines thoughtfully paired with handcrafted chocolates. The wines may include a Shiraz varietal, a white blend made with Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes and a complex rosé. On the return drive, you will pass landmarks such as Mostert’s Mill and the University of Cape Town.

Need to Know:

Note: The road along Chapman's Peak Drive is extremely steep, narrow and winding. Should Chapman’s Peak be closed, we will have to re-route the tour via Constantia Nek and Ou Kaapse Weg. This tour is not recommended for guests with a fear of heights. Passengers are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes and a sun hat. This tour is not suitable for passengers with walking difficulties as a fair amount of walking is involved. However, passengers in wheelchairs can manage this tour with an assistant. No specific age restriction applies to the tour in general, however the legal drinking age in South Africa is 18 years.
