Accessible Companion: Roatan & Monkey Sanctuary

OVERVIEW

This excursion is for guests that use a cane/walker, have limited mobility issues or for companions of those guest that have booked mobility equipment tour.

Tour includes step-free routes, shorter distances and no stairs. Accessible restrooms with wide doors for wheelchairs are present along the tour route. Vehicles are adapted with an access ramp (or lift where available) to accommodate a limited number of wheelchairs and/or mobility scooters. Guides are not allowed to push wheelchairs; therefore, guests needing special assistance must be accompanied by an able-bodied.

This Roatan shore excursion is a fun way to experience fascinating Roatan wildlife and nature firsthand. Watch playful monkeys and enjoy Wildlife at a local Monkey & Sloth Sanctuary, explore the local flea market, at a wildlife Iguana Preserve and enjoy a beautiful scenic island drive. Start your tour by meeting your tour guide accessible van at the cruise dock. From here, you will set out on a beautiful ride to the Monkey & Sloth Sanctuary. These animals are curious and adventurous. After your visit the Sanctuary, you will continue with a short scenic drive to the local flea market peppered with vendors selling different local crafts, souvenirs etc. Next, your tour continues to the popular Iguana and Marine Preserve. Visit the natural saltwater aquarium. This aquarium is home to lobsters, barracudas, tarpons, sea turtles and other sea life animals. The park is wheelchair friendly, and you will be able to use a ramp down to the iguana viewing area.
