OVERVIEW
Walk through a highly creative park where most everything is made from paper products and stroll the grounds of a lavish home once owned by an influential Taiwanese family. The Carton King Creative Park is one of the more unusual and whimsical attractions in Taichung as it was built primary with cardboard. All the furnishings, mini versions of icons such as the Eiffel Tower and Big Ben, and even the life-size animals in the paper zoo are made out of cardboard. The attractions are surprisingly sturdy, including the cardboard train that carries real passengers around the park. The Wufeng Lin Family Garden inspires awe in an entirely different way. Built by a wealthy 19th-century family, this official National Historic Site estate includes a complex of houses and large-scale gardens meant to impress. Highlights include the Five Cassia Tower – named for the five flowering evergreens at its gate – and the Flying Goblet Drunken Moon Pavilion.
