2023 Western Caribbean Cruise Activities & Excursions
Most Western Caribbean cruises on Norwegian include a stop at Harvest Caye, Belize. This 75-acre island oasis in Southern Belize offers plenty of adventure on the island, or you can book a shore excursion to the mainland. Relax in the expansive pool with a swim-up bar, rent a private cabana, go zip lining, and more. Should you choose a shore excursion to the mainland, you can go rainforest river tubing, visit a Maya temple, and more.
Scuba divers rave about the pristine waters in Roatán. Roatán is located around 30 miles off the coast of mainland Honduras. Enjoy beautiful, brightly-colored schools of fish and some of the best pillar coral in the Caribbean. Book a Discover SCUBA experience or opt for a snorkeling adventure if you aren't certified. Other popular activities in Roatán include:
- Visiting Gumbalimba Preserve and Animal Sanctuary
- Off-road dune buggy tours
- Sailing on a catamaran
- Zip lining
If you prefer to take it easy, enjoy tranquil turquoise waters at one of the beach resorts.
George Town in the Cayman Islands is also a stop on some Western Caribbean cruises. Grand Cayman is the largest of the Cayman Islands. Aside from excellent dive sites and lots of shipwrecks, Grand Cayman is famous for its Seven Mile Beach and Stingray City. You'll also find the Cayman Turtle Farm, home to over 8,000 green sea turtles. If you love craft beer, don't miss trying Caybrew, the only locally brewed beer.

2023 Southern Caribbean Cruise Activities & Excursions
The Southern Caribbean is renowned for its world-class diving, popular duty-free shopping, rich cultural vibes, and some seriously delicious eats.
If you opt for a Southern Caribbean cruise, one of your stops might be Oranjestad, Aruba. Even if you're not certified, you can enjoy some epic water adventures. Book a catamaran tour to snorkel the famous Antilla shipwreck or head to DePalm Island, where you can snorkel and sunbathe or hang out at the water park. If you prefer to stay dry, consider a tour on the Atlantis Submarine, where you can view various tropical fish, coral, and sponge gardens.
St. Kitts is another exciting Southern Caribbean island to explore. While the French founded it in 1627, you'll get a British feel here. Basseterre is one of the Eastern Caribbean's oldest towns, and it's home to La Grande Soufriere, the tallest mountain in the Lesser Antilles. St. Kitts is filled with adventure, including deep sea fishing, diving, snorkeling, and more. Another fun option here is to take a train around the island while sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying the views!
2023 Eastern Caribbean Cruise Activities & Excursions
The Eastern Caribbean is ideal any time of the year, but the popular cruise season tends to be December through April as cruisers try to escape dropping winter temperatures. No matter what time you opt to go, you won't find a shortage of activities to keep you busy.
Many of Norwegian's Eastern European cruises include a stop at Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas — Norwegian's private island. Go wild and explore all the fun activities you can do for the day on Great Stirrup Cay. Or, kick back and relax in your own private cabana or villa.
Your cruise could have a stop in the U.S. or the British Virgin Islands — or maybe both! St. Thomas is a popular Caribbean port destination. It's famous for fishing, diving, beautiful beaches, and excellent duty-free shopping. Book a catamaran sailing adventure to snorkel a shipwreck and hang out on The Caribbean Sea.
The most challenging thing about a Norwegian Caribbean cruise is deciding which one to book. If you are still researching which itinerary is your favorite, sign up for Norwegian's cruise deals. You'll get the latest news and special offers delivered right to your inbox!
